MEDIAN TOWER

Median Tower, 1997. Proposal for the 5th International Istanbul Biennial "On life, beauty, translations, other difficulties..." Istanbul, Turkey curated by Rosa Martinez.

The signal point of this broadcast is the "Maiden Tower" which is located in the Asian sea shore side of the Bosphorus. This will be a kind of a radio broadcast which will carry the sounds of waves and the mysticism of the city of Istanbul to the houses, businesses, taxis and to all public and private places from that very special piece of architecture. A broadcast which will carry the sound of loneliness in love songs to those places. "Pulsation" is a project by Ebru Ozsecen, which not only breaks the usual understanding of art in public places, but also completes art's meaning in every aspect. "Pulsation" is a radio programme that is formed of songs that are chosen by people for their loved ones.
